POLITICS?
"Politics is the last resort of a scoundrel" said an Irish playwright. Politics in degrees of comparison. Lies - more lies - politics. Look at any political setup in any country; it is the same. Tall promises they make and they find themselves helpless when they come to power. Pulls and counter pulls make their lives miserable and they succumb to pressures from every direction. The net result is chaos. They are reconciled with the old adage "let the sleeping dogs lie."
Crimes in the name of politics, starting from rape, murder, extortion - they have a political tinge. Nobody bothers about the common man. I see homeless and hungry people with a placard tied up to their bodies asking for money standing at cross roads. This is politics. No homes for people living in the country. Go to help other nations with arms and ammunition when there is no food and homes for their own citizens!
In the name of friendship wars are fought and help other nations encouraging them to spread hostilities all in the name of politics. There are nation who run on religious dogmas. they consider people belonging to other religions as infidels or enemies to be eliminated. Everything in the name of religio-politics. What in the name of humanity there are nations rushing to send help in times of calamities and natural disasters. I wonder why the same principle is not applied instead of going to wage wars with other nations to destroy life and property.
People have no faith in their own selves specially those in politics. They have heavy securities because their lives are in danger. Enormous amount of money is spent to provide security to people while there are others who feel that such people are a burden to society. I am amazed at such indiscretion when politics resorts to all types of tricks to eliminate those considered as a menace to their own personal interests.
Quite often I feel that Jesus Christ and Buddha and great religious leaders and social reformers have wasted their lives as we don't see any change. When the social contract was conceived by Locke, Rousseau, and Montesquieu, they might have never thought leadership would end up with such confusion. They wanted to avoid chaos like that of the French rulers. They thought things would improve. I don't think anyone would disagree with me when I ask, what is this democracy for?
Unless every person raises his voice, and shares his views worth the polity of the state, there is no democracy worth its name. Have pacts to send humanitarian help. Create groups, travel to other countries to spread goodwill and understanding instead of spying but to help more people in need to eliminate hunger and poverty. We can do many things on our own without the help of the third rate people who are elected by hook or crook to share the loot!
