Poetry: Autumn leaves

by Elizabeth Elia

Autumn

A red leaf here
a yellow leaf there
a brown one, a green one, there's one everywhere
so colorful, so crisp
nothing else in the word
is like the smell of
fresh autumn leaves
falling to the ground
nothing can replace
the sense of magic that comes with autumn
the leaves such a festive color
the weather so unpredictable
sunny today, cloudy tomorrow
its a wondrous time
this autumn month
too bad it only comes
once a year
