As a result of hitting level 80, expenses that come from raiding quickly begin to pile up. If you play a bit more casual, but still like gearing up, then chances are the price of almost all the high item-level gear that's bind-on-equip is very expensive, something like 3000+ gold. The gold sinks eventually do begin to pile up, and the need for gold begins to build up as well.

Ways to make gold quickly:

- Pick up gathering professions!

Professions like mining and herbalism are practically made for you to so you can make gold. There is a constant demand for both of the products of mining (Ulduar and Trial of the Crusader bind-on-equip plate gear uses saronite bars) and herbalism (flasks, that pretty much every core raider uses). With the steady demand for these items, it's hard to go wrong.

However if you want to optimize how much ore or herbs you're picking up per hour, it's a good idea to look at zones like Sholazar Basin or Wintergrasp

* Sholazar Basin has a very basic and easy route to follow. It's a good idea to go around the circular-shaped map, but also take detours for the pillars that you come across. There's about five, so you might have to pay some attention.

* Wintergrasp also has an easy route to follow, which is following the outside outlines of the map. This place also has you making money through more ways than just mining and finding herbs. As you come across the elemental areas, it's a good idea to kill the revanants that spawn there. They die fairly quickly despite a ~25,000 healthbar, but drop a lot of their respective crystallized element. It also has a couple of dailies you can do through PvP, when Wintergrasp happens to be active, or from the daily that requires you to kill about 5-6 revanants.

Mining veins and herbs pretty much grow in the same areas, herbs moreso in open areas than the veins which have a tendency to spawn near mountainous terrain.

You can also pick up jewelcrafting. Although it requires a hefty capital to level up to 375, you make a very nice profit from the cuts you can do, or from the dragon's eyes that you can sell that usually go for at least 100 gold a pop on most servers.

- Find daily quest hubs!

Despite being repetitive after a few days, daily quests are a perfect example of making gold easily and rather quickly. Perfect examples of daily quest hubs consist of:

Sons of Hodir with about 6 dailies. They're all done in pretty much the same area, so there's very little traveling time. There's also a jewelcrafting design that you can receive from reaching either revered or exalted reputation, which you can use to get even more gold. The dailies also consist of killing quite a lot of mobs, so a ton of vendor trash and possibly greens will be dropping and thickening your wallet.

Argent Tournament with about 4-5ish+. They're mostly self-explanatory. However there's potential to make big bucks here since once you receive the Crusader title, you're able to buy the bind-on-equip pets that you can sell to almost anyone. Depending on the server, they can go from 100 gold to almost 600 gold.

- Do normal-mode Trial of the Champions!

Every boss drops 2 epic items in this instance, for a total of 6. The instance takes roughly 20 minutes to complete without any wipes, which is very reasonable, and rewards you with pretty much 6 abyss crystals assuming you have an enchanter in your group. So in one hour, you can sell 18 abyss crystals in the auction house for about 40 gold to 100 gold depending on your server's economy. But if you think about it, even if each abyss crystal sold for 40 gold, that comes to a 720 gold total!
