What I do not understand is how could anyone disagree. Regardless of any religious thinking, priests are human, and gay people are human too. This should not be asked religiously, in wonder of what could be the divine's wishes It should be asked humanly, as to in which point recently has the world forgotten, religion tends to be very stubborn in supporting equal rights. A man is a man, anatomically if he has the parts, than he is male. But then again, even upon a more serious issue, is the right upon which a woman would like to become a priest is non-existent. I am not saying gay rights are below a woman's rights, but statistically it is, considering there is more women in the world than gay men. (

Most definitely should a gay man be allowed to be ordained as a priest. It is not a matter of religion, it is a matter of equal human rights. Religion has no boundaries, and as a result had to be separated from state. After all, The First Amendment did read "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" (http://www.ahmadrezataheri.org /post-112.aspx).
Is this not action against cruel and unjust action? It is, and it was put in place to keep religion from influencing people as a whole. Without this, there would be no grounding. No justice system could be supported because of coinciding religious verses in the Christian Bible that state equal love, but then cold ignorant hatred towards many differences, not just homosexuality. This cannot just be an easy matter of allowing gay people to become ordained, for the resistance to it is deep rooted and unfair. The ones who speak out against homosexuality, and their rights as humans on this earth are nearly always deeply religious people. Those who believe they are equal, tend to be more accepting, grounded, and able to back up their debate. For instance, there are of course biological reasons as to why some people are gay. These are who they are. Exactly the way "God" intended, and exactly the way it is suppose to be. It is simply and unequivocally nature, for opposites belonged anciently and eternally. Life is full of colors and shades, many aspects and prospects. There is black to every white, tall to every short, hot to every cold, and thus homosexual to every heterosexual.
How, and in what point in time have we forgotten our universe around us and figured there is only white (or at least it is the only color we can see), only male (or at least the only voice we can hear), only skinny (or at least the only weight we can measure), and only straight (or at least the only sexuality we can feel).
It would seem unethical for me to rely on religion to give me all the answers to every question. Sometimes they don't, and when that happens it becomes an issue because everyone wants to know "Who's gay? What do they do? What does it mean? Does God still love them?". All these questions were once asked, but never given light and thus remained ignorant. And considering ignorance is bliss, this spread like a virus and thus changed the minds of many who were once just discovering how the world works and who they are themselves. You cannot rely on religious people to change, but rely on the grounded and worldly to make a difference.
Yes, most definitely should gay people be allowed to be ordained priests. If it survives under the clouds, than into the buildings of faith is allowed.
