You can either develop your own website or blog and write for yourself using an ad based revenue model or you can build a portfolio on other websites. Additionally there are many other sites, such as elance, that professional freelance writers can visit to explore as a potential source of income.

With Helium payment is regular and while the exact amount of payment may fluctuate depending on the month or season, once a writer invests the time in building up a nice portfolio, a steady income can be counted on for many writers. The key to success is to write quality content, find a good niche area and focus on strong titles that will attract readers.

*Garage and Yard Sales

Do you tend to store everything in closets, attics, sheds and basements? If so, you might be sitting on a gold mine of things to sell. If you want to earn a chunk of money from home, try gathering together all of the items you'll never use and put them up for sale.

The best times of the year to do this are likely spring and the fall, but depending on the weather where you live, you can probably have them more frequently.
