A glass of heartache for one more minute with you?
Why yes, that sounds divine.
A moment of delusion in your arms;
A place where I am welcome no longer.
But I can't be alone I certainly can't be alone;
I'd much rather be miserable with you,
Sinking slowly in my melting self-esteem.
You gave me three years before you got wise;
Got wise and moved on.
Did I mention I still find your strength sexy?
Did I mention I don't blame you?
Did I mention I still love you?
Did I mention I'd rather be miserable with you;
Drowning slowly in my melting self-esteem?
Offer me another drink and pour it in a dirty glass.
This time my love, add a just hint of pity
Offer me another night with you.
Offer me passion and bliss
But take it away as soon as you see me smile
You know I'm happy here, feeling miserable with you
Choking slowly on my melting self-esteem.
Would you care to take a ride with me?
Through happiness and ambition,
Failure and complacency,
Until we reach my stop,
Somewhere past self-destruction and passive rage.
Just let me have that moment of misery with you.
I'll sit quietly with my withered self-esteem.
Does my melodrama still turn you on?
How about my jaded ambitions?
Do you believe I can change?
I've learned my lessons,
This time I promise to fail with grace and poise,
For one more chance to be miserable with you;
And I realize how far I've sank.

They say eyes are windows to the soul
If that's true, yours must be stain-glassed
Becaus e I never could see in.
They say soft
It's the words we say
And those we don't
That bring us to this point
Disappointed and brokenhearted
You did, I gave that's how

Nothing hurts me more
Then to see you in such pain
I wish I could take it away
But the way I feel for you will never change
I

Back then, you trusted me
We shared our homes each night
I cooked supper and you washed dishes

Love, hope, bittersweet.
Dead, still, utterly weak.
I try not to think about
the way I heard you shout.
