Of All Things That Jive And Gingle

Chapter 1.

From a distance the reflective qualities could be mistaken as sunfall . Rare as it were to even see such an event, there were those in past history that had recorded in large volumes tales of the occurrances. Zip had to laugh at the thought as he gazed from a fairly safe distance at the reflective ?

Hell what could you call it ? Mirror, glass, window ? That last suggestion really made Zip laugh to himself. Such things were only spoken in whispers by the old folk . Tales of tall people living over..... Well, anyway whatever was causing the reflection was cool . Not nearly as interesting when it comes to the book Zip and his best friend Wafe had discovered out past the burned temple near Hayden's point several passings before .

Odd though, Zip thought to himself how this only occurred withing the last few seconds of glazing. Normally during the glazing period the air was pure and there was a touch of color in the breeze as it blew out across the fields and down into the lower valleys before natural sunfall.

"Perhaps," he muttered aloud , " I should move closer , not too close but just enough to say to all those I meet later that I was truly brave " .

At first glance one could not be afraid of Zip, small in stature with muscular strength perhaps of ...well anyone with the name of Zip. His eyesight was worthless if it had not been with serious consideration by the council in ordering him to wear glasses at all times. This of course was more of a safety issue for those living within traveling distance of his often bizarre journeys across the countryside. Zip agreed to the imposing of the glasses, but flatly refused to carry a bell alerting all those within his journey's path to be aware. The bell would have been discarde quickly on this particular discovery to avoid alarming whatever "it" was .

Zip looked around him, first for perhaps another traveler, then out of frustration gave a deep heartfelt sigh in realization that nobody was around for miles. This was it . His moment to shine ! Or die trying. Zip never really had more options than those two. Perhaps the discovery of something new would make him a better person - at least for today. After all he was saving his better days for those times when they indeed would matter most .
