a deep blood red,
February's amethyst,
purple like the crown on a queen's head,
March's aquamarine,
a barely-detectable blue,
April's diamond,
What your true love gifts to you,
May's emerald,
Most precious, deep green,
June's pearl,
With which society ladies preen,
July's Ruby,
Red, elegant, bold,
August's peridot,
Spring green and beautiful to behold,
September's sapphire,
Blue as the ocean deep,
October's opal,
Many secrets it may keep,
November's topaz,
Amber, gold, yellow,
December's turquoise,
Calming and mellow
