Marilyn Manson was born Brian Hugh Warner on January 5, 1969.

His name was changed to Marilyn Manson because of serial killer Charlie Manson and actress Marilyn Monroe. He felt that this represented both good and evil.

He began his musical career in 1989. At this time, his band was Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids, but was later shortened to just Marilyn Manson. It took until 1993 for the band to get recognition. The band was discovered by Trent Reznor, lead singer of Nine Inch Nails.

Reznor released their first album "Portrait Of An American Family" on his record label Nothing Records.This began what some would call a cult following for Marilyn Manson. He has been labeled as a devil worshiper and a bad influence on children.

When Marilyn Manson released their second album,Smells Like Children in 1995, the cult growing became larger as the band landed their first number one hit "Sweet Dreams".

Trent Reznor produced the next album by this band called Antichrist Superstar, which landed Marilyn Manson in the spotlight, outselling both previous albums.

Manson also starred in films such as Lost Highway and Jawbreaker. It is said that Johnny Depp used Marilyn Manson as inspiration to star as Charlie in his film Willy Wonka.

He was also featured in an MTV animated series Celebrity Deathmatch.

In 2005, Manson married Dita Von Teese, and she filed for divorced in 2006.It is reported Manson was having an affair. The divorce was granted in 2007.

Manson has been named in several lawsuits. He was accused of giving a woman cocaine and sexual battery amongst other things.

He also has been blamed for numerous other things by people from around the world, including the Columbine shootings and suicides. People claim that their children worshipped him so much, they believed every word he said and he should be blamed for the deaths. With songs such as "If I Were Your Vampire", there is no wonder he is blamed in these types of cases.

There have been accusations that he is a devil worshipper, a baby eater, and an antichrist. Manson fits the goth persona, wearing black clothing and make up and talking about the darker side of life.No matter what the world's perception of Manson is, he is going nowhere any time soon. He has a new album titled The High End Of Low, as well as an ongoing tour.
