I have memories of autumn leaves
Vestiges of a summer gone too fast
Stamping out the long days and warm weather
Heroically ushering in a new season of life
Felt through gentle breezes and seen
Entrancing me with its vivid reds, yellows and oranges
Escapism finds me as I leap
Apace into a freshly raked pile
Leaves surround me
Melting my summer memories as I welcome autumn.

across a sky streaked with gray.
Streets littered in orange and brown,
fallen leaves
The barn fires of old had leaves piled so very high
their flames got so high, they touch the earthly sky.
Even as the fires
