Tips to help you eat vegetables

It seems that grown ups dread vegetables as much as children do. A way to fix this problem? Treat your veggie hating grown up as you would your children when it comes to cuisine. Trick them!

We all know how healthy and good for you these foods are, but lets admit, some of them can taste a bit horrid! Not to worry though, as there are many vegetables that can be prepared so tasty that they would have to admit to liking them!

Foods such as zucchini, broccoli and asparagus (oh the horror, eh?) are great chameleons. Each of these has their own smell and taste, however they soak up flavors, from things around them, like crazy! If you or your problem subject like sausage links cut some (not a lot is needed at all) into a non stick pan and throw some mushrooms in. They will completely absorb the aroma of your child's food. Adding an egg and turning this into some omelette's is a great idea as well.

The same goes with many other combinations, and you don't have to go crazy filling your plates with veggies. Slowly but surely incorporate them into your usual dishes. Try baking some carrots (large instead of baby carrots) rather than potatoes one day, see how that pairs up with your meat. Instead of putting a big intimidating bowl of salad on the table, make a small bowl of salad for each person and it will pass a lot easier. Most people love Salsa but don't consider it as veggies, they simply don't think about it! If you are one of those people try making your own Salsa out of fresh ingredients, you know you will love it and it will be so much healthier without all of the preservatives. You can find tons of recipes online or try your luck, all you need is vegetables like tomatoes, onions and peppers with a little salt to taste.

You won't like all of the vegetables that you try, but do not get discouraged just because you couldn't make the first few work. Go to your local farmers market and you will be baffled at the amount of different foods there are offered there. Most of them you wouldn't have ever even seen or tasted, so take a chance and do some experimenting. You will most definitely find things that you will fall in love with. It does take time but everyone's tastes are different and no one can tell you what you will or wont like, so curiosity and willingness to improve your health are what will do it for you.
