The internet is pretty much just like an alternate universe in which people could interact in as well as utilizing the various features in the realm indeed deemed as "cyberspace". The tool used by people to explore around this universe is of course the computer. The internet is arguably one in which improvement and expansions are extremely vast. When the internet is a topic in a discussion, it is just like discussing abut a double-edged sword. In fact, for those who are well-versed on the internet, at least in terms of usage (which I believe constitutes most if not all of us), the first thing that might come to mind when brainstorming prior to a discussion about the internet is the aforementioned double-edged sword or a coin with two sides. In the following paragraphs, both sides of some of the various aspects and features of the really broad topic of the internet will be delved into.
The very first part of this essay would talk about the positive side of the internet. Despite this being about the "positive" side of the aspects of the internet, the flip side of the coin would also be considered in each of the cases. Firstly, the internet without a doubt has given one thing that humans constantly crave, and perhaps this is at least one of the primary reasons that the internet, which started off as a tool in the military to be commercialized and developed so vastly that anyone that could get their hands on a computer as well as setting aside a relatively small amount of money could make use of the internet. The one thing is none other than convenience. Nowadays, it is increasingly scarce that people needing to leave their homes to fulfill their various needs. With the internet, people are able to do increasingly many things from the comfort of their own homes, or the comfort of their armchair to be exact. For example, people no longer need to go to the shops to purchase many things and can do so through the internet (from sites such as eBAY for example). People can also do their banking procedures through the internet which is known as "internet banking" and as such, people do not need to go to the actual bank and queue for such a long time, the banking procedures can be done almost instantaneously with just a few clicks of the mouse. If this is not convenience enough, job applications are now done through the internet and not forgetting school registration process which is also done through the internet.
