Top Five Sports Movies of All Time
1) Remember the Titans: One of the greatest football movies ever made is about the integration issues that faced many in the early 70's. Herman Boone was the first black coach of the chosen to lead a newly integrated team in Alexandria Virginia.
This movie is a personal favorite of mine and a true inspiration. To me it shows what can be when people don't let their difference form divisions and come together as one.
2) Miracle: The greatest hockey movie ever made. Coach Herb Brooks leads a team of college hockey players to battle the mighty, thought to be unbeatable Russians in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
This movie not only touches on the underdog winning it touches on the very fabric of patriotism in the US. One day, one game every one in the US was cheering for one team.
3) Rocky: Is there anything better than hearing a filled arena yell "Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!" A nobody, south paw from Philly gets a title shot in a fight against Apollo Creed. Creed thinks this is an easy win but Rocky knows this is his one big chance.
This is the ultimate underdog movie that gives a person hope that opportunities do happen and when they do they must be seized.
4) Friday Night Lights: Friday Night Lights covers the story of the West Texas high school football team Permian Panthers and the kids that played there in 1988. In a quest for the Permian Panthers 5 state title they run into obstacles both on and off the field.
This is a great movie that inspires one to achieve everything they can regardless of what obstacles that stand in the way.
5) Vision Quest: This is about Lauden Swain, a high school wrestler, trying to make his mark on life by losing weight and training to wrestle the best wrestler in the state Shute.
I only wrestled one year in high school but this movie was inspirational on many levels. To me it signified being able to accomplish any goal you had as long as you put the work in to make it happen.
These are my favorite sports movies. I know there are many more I can add but these are the sports movies that I like to watch and remember the most when looking for inspiration and would recommend any of these movies.
