Writing on-line is one of the most reliable Internet jobs. Look around the web, you'll find hundreds upon hundreds of on-line writing websites catering to novice, intermediate, and advancex writers. Some websites require experience, resumes, and portfolios, while others require basic information to work for them. There's something out there for writers of all levels, but it's not just about being able to write efficiently. It's about writing efficiently while gaining an on-line audience (aka page views.)
You might be thinking, "I don't need page views to get paid." That is partly true, depending on what type of writing site you are working for. Let me break it down for you with an example. The most popular on-line writing sites mainly look for article writers and blog writers. Your employer(s) breaks this down by paying you for up-front payments or by residual income.
What is up-front payment? This is the type of payment you get if you send in a article and they accept it. Once they accept it, they will pay you a certain amount of money for your article right then and there.
What is residual income? This is what leads back to our question about page views. If you write an article and it gets approved, you'll only get paid monthly based on the number of page views your article gets. For instance, if you write articles for Bukisa and achieved a thousand page views for your article then you'll automatically get paid around $3.45. It might not seem like much, but it adds up over time if you keep getting page views to your articles. Never fear because there are almost a handful of ways to get some page views to your articles.
1. Join some social bookmarking sites. Twitter, Stumbleupon, Digg, and Rediit are some good and popular ones to use. There are millions of users on these bookmarking sites so you'll have a wider audience to click on your links to your articles.
2. Join social networking sites. Post the link to your article in the "personal web page" field in your profile and start communicating with other members to double the chance of more page views. The most popular social networking sites are Facebook and MySpace. Try those out first before you try other ones.
3. Join forums. Once you join a forum, you should first put your article links in your signature section. This allows people to see your link and click on them if they are interested.
4. Make a website or blog. Promote your own articles by posted them on your blog/website.
5. Join Yahoo Answers or Mahalo. When someone ask a question that's related to one of your articles, you can post your link with your answer. You can use any website that you can answer other peoples questions, the Internet has some many options available to you.
