In every one of us God has placed unique talents and abilities, He gives us the strength to achieve tasks that will further His kingdom and bring glory to His name. The Lord looks kindly upon those who follow His commandments. He promises to bless us and further our happiness, if only we strive to achieve the tasks He has designed for us.
Even before we were born the Lord knew every action we would ever take and every thought we would ever have. He designed for us a task that only we could accomplish; He placed us in this world with the intention of bringing glory to Himself, glory that He rightly deserves. Therefore we have an obligation to accomplish these tasks that He has set forth for us, this is the "meaning of life," that philosophers have searched for their entire lives, and unbeknownst to them it was right beneath their noses the whole time. Searching for this one task that the Lord has created for us may seem like an impossible and daunting task; however that is where your God given talents serve as a shining light to guide you.
The Lord is an all knowing Creator, and as such He has given us the tools we need to achieve the task He has designed for us. We need to look within ourselves and uncover the unique talents that God has indwelt within us, only then can we begin the work that He has so perfectly designed for us.
The Lord does not "play favorites," Each member of the body of Christ is indispensable and infinitely important in the role that they play; this truth is made evident in 1st Corinthians 12:14-20,
"Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body."
From this verse we may know that each of us has a unique and important role to play in the body of Christ. In our world your job is commonly seen as a status symbol, with the doctors, lawyers, CEO's and politicians seen as the cream of the crop, the most important and deserving of respect. While these "elites" are indeed a vital component of our society, they would be helpless without the vast numbers of "normal" working class men and women they encounter every day.
These gifts the Lord has given us are of the utmost importance, and ignoring them is a loss the whole world will feel and weep for. God has given us each amazing gifts, gifts that can be used for His glory. And these gifts may indeed be directly responsible for bringing another brother or sister into the body of Christ someday. Strive to nurture your gifts and use them in the name of the Lord, so that you too may someday fulfill your purpose in this grand Creation of our Lord's.
