Humor: How to save money on your winter energy bill

I know everyone is hungry to know ways to save on that winter energy bill. Yes, winter is coming. But, not to panic. I will tell you having a heat pump does make a world of difference. Now, I imagine hearing it from a salesman . It does sound all like malarky. I am not a sales man. I have nothing to gain by telling you this. I had a single wide without a heat pump. My bill ran about 230.00 to 250.00 a month. Listen carefully, I now have a 2,000 square foot double wide with a heat pump. Do you know my light bill stays the exact same? We are talking about double the space at the same cost.

For those who do not care to invest in that route at this time. There are simple ways to save still. No one is excluded in saving. A great trick is to cook in the oven meals for dinner. You are cooking as well as providing extra heat. That lessens the tomes the heater will cut on. You've heard the saying you can kill two birds with one stone. That applies here.

Next, maintenance comes into play. Do a winter check. I know it is a dreaded thing but, it does pay off.Check drafty windows. Cork around them. Women can even do this. Make sure your skirting to your home or all brick is closed off to prevent drafts. You also, do not want animals to be able to get under your home and destruct any much needed energy saving insulation. If some has been torn you may want to patch up those areas before enclosing any gateways under your home.

Then, I offer you common sense ideas. No one needs to be laid up in your home twenty four hours in shorts in the middle of the dead winter. If they are get them out or ensure they are clothed. Have blanket throws draped across the couch for easy access. This way you can turn the thermostat from coming on too much.

Imagine the more it comes on hearing a slight cha ching coming from your wallet. If you visualize this. It will help you put a plan into action. Explain to those living with you the benefits of cutting off lights as they leave rooms. You can also, do a reward system. Tell the kids if they make good habits of conserving

energy. When the bill comes in and you can see the savings that everyone pitched in for. You will take everyone out for an ice cream at the end of the month. That creates incentive for them to get in gear with you. Saving energy is a team effort. The whole team should benefit.
