When It Rains
When the showers come I think of you
And see us dancing in the rain
I know it is just a silly thought, indeed,
But a smile comes to my face just the same
I've always been a dreamer I confess
And seeing us drenched head to toe
Amuses me and I begin to laugh
At the notion of two grown people
Dancing in the rain as the thunder rolls
Then we dash for the closest shelter
Laughing uncontrollably, hearts racing
As we shiver in the evening breeze
As the sun comes out from behind the clouds
We can't help but dance one more time
For old times sake

When it rains
I feel closer to you
because the color gray
surrounding me, forms small droplets
by the millions, colors my emotion

Cars on the cobblestone streets
emit gas into the humid air,
as the smell of salt lingers
from the nearby
When it rains the old man thinks
He see's slithers of silver,
Littering his garden path.
His elderly brain turns lightening
