Setting up a Facebook page or Facebook group is very simple to do. If a member of Congress can set up a Facebook page or Facebook group in order to build support for their campaign, an average citizen certainly can as well. For example Kendrick Meek, who is running for the United States Senate in the state of Florida has one of the most active Facebook pages out there as far as politicians go.

The profiles on Facebook simply ask for some basic information like your gender and your birthday. They also let you give out information like Relationship Status and your Political Views for example.

You can also join Fan Pages in order to show support to some of your favorite actors, sports stars and activities. You can do this by going to Edit Profile and look for ways to honor your favorite actors such as Paul Newman. You can even add information such as your Education and Work Information. This is a very good way to build up networks of people within the business world. You can also talk about your favorite type of music and books. Facebook can also be a great way to discuss literature with other fans of certain authors. Facebook also allows you to list some of your favorite quotations that are out there. These quotes can lead you to learn more about certain public figures that you previously knew nothing about in some situations. These quotes can inspire you to look into these public figures on a far greater level.

The creation of a Facebook group can be a little more complicated than the development of a Facebook profile. If you go to the Search bar on Facebook you can type in the word Groups and be able to find the option Create a New Group. You click on this option and then go on to fill out the Group Name. The next step is to select which network you want this group to be open to. You can make sure that your group is available on a global basis. You can also select a network involved for a particular university such as Northwestern University for example. You can also create your group for an even more localized area such as Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The next step is to list a brief description of the group. If you truly want to be successful in making sure people join your group, it is important to make sure that people know the group's real aim is. Your description does not have to be extremely lengthy and detailed, but certainly long enough in order to let people know what cause or person you may be supporting or opposing with your group.

You can also select your group type such as Business, Just for Fun or Arts & Entertainment for example. You do not actually have to select your group type, this is indeed optional. The next and final part about creating a group is leaving the Contact Information for the group. This can be an e-mail address of the Administrator and where the Administrator is located.
