There you are again
In your hierarchy up high
There you are again
High away from me
There you are again
As I reach to touch you
There you are again
As all I grasp is air
There you are again
In all your violated beauty
There you are again
Pearls dripping off your flesh
There you are again
Rivers of red and blue silk cradling your form
There you are again
But I can see what you really are
There you are again
With the unformed bruises under your dress
There you are again
Memories swirling in your mind like a sea of knives
There you are again
You're screaming from the pain in your head
There you are again
Scrubbing your skin till strawberry rivers run into the water
There you are again
Lying in that bed
There you are again
In your hierarchy up high
There you are again
Swathed in your lies
There you are again
As it plays over and over again behind your smile
There you are again
As it consumes you in front of them
There you are again
As it spills forth
There you are again
As you become what you truly are
There you are again
As your mask crumbles and you fall
There you are again
I can finally reach you
There you are again
As I stitch you back up
There you are again
As I put you back in your gilded cage
There you are again
I leave you to your choices
There you are again
Sitting on your perch so alone

Poetry: There you are again
by Allyn Smith
A Given Job
The sun lies down for the evening
as the angels mount their starlit posts
Do they know, can they see me
behind
You picked me up when I was down,
Pulled me up when I fell to the ground,
When I was lost, made sure I was found,
O beautiful
This moment of clarity strikes me at night.
This moment of clarity brings me insight.
This moment of clarity is the real me.

There you are again
My trusted friend
Just when I need you most
You appear like a ghost
We've been through thick and thin
We
You were a wonderful friend
I enjoyed your company
I had known you for years
I enjoyed being with you
You made me laugh,
