Home remedy treatments for oily skin

There is no doubt that oily skin is an issue for many people. It can get frustrating having to deal with oily skin on a daily basis. Though it is true that oily skin is most likely the result of the genetics within your family and is therefore hereditary, this does not mean that oily skin has to be an everlasting issue for you. It can be difficult finding oily skin treatments that actually work out there in the product market. However, do not despair; there are natural home remedy treatments that can be used to help with this issue of oily skin.

First of all, it is important to know why treating oily skin is important. Contrary to popular belief, oily skin is more than a simple cosmetic issue. If left untreated, not only will the oily skin remain present and produce an unwanted shine to your face, but it can also lead to other skin issues. These types of issues include acne, pimples, or blackheads. Of course, these types of things are not wanted, so it is important to deal with oily skin before it leads to further issues. Like previously mentioned, oily skin is most likely hereditary, but it can also be due to hormone changes or negative dietary choices.

So what home remedies can be used to treat oily skin? A good remedy is wheat germ oil. Though the name of this product may not sound very appealing, it is in fact a great way to reduce the amount of oils in your skin. Simply spread it over your face and let it stay for about an hour. After that, rinse your face with warm water. You can also try using milk to combat oily skin. Milk is a natural cleanser that can help remove any excess oil from your face. Simply apply milk onto a cotton ball and use it to spread it over your face. Repeat this process at least twice a day. Remember, however, that cleansing your face too much is just as bad as not cleansing your face at all.

Exfoliating the face can also prove to be beneficial in helping cope with oily skin. Exfoliation removes any excess, unwanted aspects from your face, such as dead skin cells, oil, dirt, etc. This, in turn, provides a healthier, cleaner skin surface. For a natural home exfoliator, mix about five drops of lemon juice with one tablespoon of both corn flour and rice power. Mix the products together and then add it to the face in a massaging motion. This will succesfully exfoliate the face, and therefore remove oils from the skin.
