The homecoming dance, every girls nightmare and one of the most happiest days of there life... that is if you had a date. As for me, Hannah Stewart, I did not. I had someone in mind, Jake Turner, he had been my best friend since kindergarten and in the sixth grade I had developed a crush on him and now being fourteen, it had not gone away.
I was afraid to tell him how I felt, I didn't know if he felt the same way or if he would freak and not want to be my friend anymore. I didn't want to do anything to destroy our friendship.
"Hannah!" My hazel eyes spotted my other friend, Amber Holden, coming through the bedroom door with a smile on her face. "Okay, let me see the dress!" She was excited because I told her I had gotten a dress for the dance. Standing up I went to my closet and pulled put the beautiful dress I bought, it was black with white dots, there was a pink band going around it at the bottom and the waist band was pink also. "Oh its so cute!" Amber exclaimed.
"Thanks" I mumbled, not sure of what else to say, I still didn't have a date while Amber did. She was going with Tyler Marks, a football player at our high school. He was very handsome with brown hair and blue eyes that sparkled, Amber was one lucky girl that was for sure.
"Hannah, you haven't told Jake have you?" She glared at me, I shook my head, my brown wavy hair swaying with the movement. Amber sat on my bed that was covered with horses,"Hannah you have got to tell him by one day or your dateless" Amber turned to look at the clock on my desk before turning back to me,"Well I gotta go, my mom's taking me to the mall to pick out a dress".
With that, my friend was gone.
I was so bored and it was only 3:00 on a Sunday afternoon so I decided to get some studying done. I was an A student and needed to keep it that way if I wanted to get into a good college. Two hours passed as I studied before my mom called me,"Hannah, Jakes here!" Jake was here, he hadn't called nor had I called him, so why was he here?
"Okay mom, send him up!" I called back. I heard his footsteps as he walked his way up the stairs, moments later he opened the door. His green eyes were the first thing I noticed... they were always the first thing I noticed. "Hey Han" He said, I could tell he was nervous but what for? He sat on the chair at my desk, his eyes looking around before turning them on me.
"Hannah, I need to ask you something" He said to me, I nodded my head, my eyes never strode from my History paper no matter how hard
