As I sit on my back patio sipping coffee, the cool, breezy morning air surrounds me. The steam rises from my mug, lingering in the air in front of me, dazzling me briefly with its heady, aromatic scent before cheerfully vanishing into the ethers. As I look at the grass sparkling with its magical dusting of dew in the sunlight, I can literally feel the atmosphere begin its transition from summertime into autumn. I smile contentedly I catch the sight of geese overhead beginning their annual southern journey, excitedly honking at one another as they begin the journey to their winter home.
Soon the leaves on the trees will transform from the deep, vibrant green into a beautiful menagerie of rich reds, oranges and yellows. The garden will transform from delightful muted tones to the rich powerful jewel-like colors as they begin to bulk up to sustain themselves the cooler temperatures. Autumn is without a doubt, my favorite time of year. My whole being comes alive during this sensual time of year; more so than any other time of the year.
As the cool, crisp morning breeze dances and tinkles a musical tune on the wind chimes, I am reminded of how much amazing transformation is about to happen. Autumn is a most bewitching time of year. I can hardly wait for Mother Nature dazzle us in her annual Magic Show with bountiful harvests, crisp evening air, and shortened days. And who can forget the pumpkin pie and the abundance of juicy apples ripe on the trees? Oh, how my soul aches for the scent of hot apple cider to waft cheerfully through my home again with its intoxicating aroma. These tastes, these scents, these textures of autumn are what it is for my soul to truly feel content.
In addition to nature's breathtaking show of transformation, autumn also signals a transformation within me. I use this time to reflect on the blessings I've received this year and all I've harvested on a personal level. This is a time where balance, harmony and peace are carefully contemplated and gratitude for the blessings I've been so generously remunerated with throughout the year from the Universe are expressed joyfully. Autumn is undeniably my power season; and its coming soon. My soul has that peaceful, easy feeling as I savor the last drop of coffee in my mug. Time for transformation once again is on the horizon.
