I bought a pumpkin at the store,
I did not know his name;
I'd add some eyes, some ragged teeth
And a candle for a flame.
He'd be a lantern like days of old,
And I would call him Jack;
He'd greet the ghosts and goblins,
And the witches dressed in black.
But first I'd have to find a way
To hollow out his head,
That's it, alright, I'll make a Pie!
From a recipe I had read.
Some butter and eggs and sugar,
Then a pie crust I must make;
Then mix it all together,
And put in the oven to bake.
I'll need some fancy spices to
Win over the staunchest foes;
First will be vanilla and then,
Allspice, cinnamon, and cloves.
So, I put it all together
And I made a pumpkin pie;
Let me tell you, without a doubt,
Old Jack's a tasty guy!
