Autumn leaves
The Autumn leaves are brilliant
In their bright and muted hues;
They are, for all the world to see,
Heralding the news.
Never are the leaves so grand
As in their Autumn glory;
As they bid us fond farewell,
They tell an awesome story.
They leave this world in gentle swirls,
Returning to the earth;
They show us life and growth and death;
And the promise of rebirth.
For in this majestic tapestry
Of red and brown and gold;
Is the viewing of the promise
That the Book of Life foretold.
The end of summer has arrived,
The winter beckons near;
But the falling leaves of brilliant hue
Tell us not to fear.
It is not the end that comes this day
As we should clearly see;
It is only time to rest a while
Before returning to the tree.
For in the spring life renews,
When barren winter's past;
The leaves will once again emerge,
Young and green en masse.

Autumn Leaves
Silhouettes of miniature fingers
Gently floating from their
Arms of strength
Like the butterflies of spring

fallen leaves

Drifting
From naked tree limbs
As Autumn creeps towards
Summer's end.

Wrapping round me in the morn
Reminds me of the colors
Orange pumpkins, yellow corn

When autumn leaves
And winter calls
It leaves its leaves
In frigid thralls
Before they freeze
Those autumn leaves
They stack
