what is anything in and of itself? intrinsically can anything have meaning? if not, then from what device do we ascribe meaning? is everything thus relative, and subjective? whose version of truth is true? mine of course. or is it yours? do any two people recognize the same world? either god created man, or man created god; either way we need each other. what, then, does it mean to truly be human'? what of our likeness of god' would separate us from animals? is it that we can reason? is the mark of sophistication the degree to which you are capable of destruction and chaos, or the ability to preserve order? we are, to be sure, free to think for ourselves, and to challenge. however, do the free thoughts of man every truly promote order, or resolve chaos? if this is not the case, then is there another counter-mechanism that keeps man's godliness in check? i suppose that mechanism would be characterized somewhat like the concept of sin. this, then would seem to indict more than just conventional bad behavior assumptions; it would seem to also include any substantive thinking which inhibits our godliness, or humanity. that seems to mean that apathy is sin. this logic is somewhat exclusive and idealistic. it assumes that all people are in fact godly, or capable and willing to think in the abstract, and to adhere to a flawless existence. to what degree can all people live a committed life, and not simply cling to routine life like gears in a machine? so if most people fit in to the gear categorythat is they never introspectively question everything, and realize any special trait of humanitythen are humans, in general actually more sophisticated than animals? maybe its in our dna to have the technical capability of being this idealistic human, and maybe it is not. nevertheless, humans in reality are in their own right quite animalistic, savage, and illogical, a bundled mess of chemicals with a propensity for destruction. if this is true, then there must also be a category of humans with creative, liberated, intellect, who do analyze all of these sorts of things. each of us seems to conclude different thingsthere is a wide range of overlap, and synthesizing, but also a wide degree of differentiation. such people are often simultaneously regarded as being brilliant and crazy. in a cartesian sense, the reality of a person we would consider insane' is just as real as the respective realities of the rest of us. so we are, in existence, shrouded in vast mystery. we posses
