The nature of greatness,
What constitutes greatness? Is it a beautiful work of art? The playful laughter of a child? A heroic act? An individual, or group, whose leadership changes the course of history for the better, or all of the above?
One could argue the meaning of greatness, until the stars disappear from the sky, but the true path of greatness, is in understanding the nature of our own greatness. As the grand enigma of life, always returns to self. At every moment, the magnificence of the universe conspires to give us the chance to deepen our own inner perspective, so that we can mirror more of what we are outward. Giving permission for others to do the same. This transformation enhances the light within, sending it to all points of time, and space, and reflecting it back to the universe that gave us life, in the first place.
However, we, the population of this little blue ball hurdling through space, do not know the nature of our own greatness. We tend to think very little of ourselves, and look to others for guidance, wisdom, and support; we especially seek these things from our God, without first learning about the nature of the Source. And as humans often do, what reality we do not know, we then create our own version of the truth, further diminishing the greatness within.
To many, God remains a mystery, so instead of seeking to understand, a false God is made. A God that can be blamed for our stupidity, bargained with, so that we can continue to devalue ourselves. And called upon, when our petty desires are not met. Now I ask you, where is the greatness in this? All of us are made up of the very best that God could create. From the moment we drew our first breath in this existence, we were given everything needed to be a complete person.
Now being a complete being does not mean that there is no negativity within us, however it does mean that we accept, and love all aspects of our character. We give ourselves a pat on the back for thoughts, words, and actions that are positive, and we also forgive, and learn from the not so nice things that come from us. Now that is greatness! To say without ego, " I love, and approve of myself, exactly the way I am, and I am open to growth, and change". The survival instinct, and fear are still very much a part of who we are, but we have the power to choose the path we will walk! This has always been our choice.
The strength of the human heart, and the fire of the human spirit, is at the core of true greatness, as this represents the face of the source. As an artist expresses his\ her passion by creating something beautiful, God has done the very same thing with all of us. This is something we need to remember, in the times when we feel lost, and small.
Greatness comes in all forms, but the nature of greatness never changes. Knowing who we are, and where we come from is the highest level of greatness!
God bless the greatness inside of all of you!
