Tips on saving paper and trees

The best way you can help save paper and trees is by doing simple things. These things can be easily adapted in your daily routine. Once they become part of your lifestyle, you will have no difficulty in bringing them to practice:
Start using recycled paper: Start with Kitchen rolls, toilet papers, tissues, stationary products etc made up of recycled paper. It is better to use unbleached recycled paper which may not be bright white in appearance but it is reasonably white. Recycled paper can be used for printing newspapers, telephone directories, yellow pages, cardboard boxes, cartons etc etc. Many superstores in the UK (Sainsbury's, Bodyshop etc) use recycled paper wherever possible (e.g. paper bags, cardboard boxes for keeping eggs) etc. We as customers can make the biggest contribution in this battle to save the trees by buying recycled paper products. Recycled paper is almost always cheaper than its virgin equivalent. Using recycled paper will help in preventing million of trees from being fell and thus will go a long way in saving the environment. Using unbleached recycled paper would also help in reducing huge discharges of chlorine compounds into the rivers around paper mills; these discharges could kill fish and other forms of marine life.
Don't discard pages which have something written over them on one side only. The back of the page can be once again re-used for taking out a rough print out or for doing rough work.
Cut out the wasted cardboard boxes and cartons into small cards. One side of the boxes used in packing is usually clean. You can utilize that clean side for writing small notes, preparing kitchen lists or writing recipes.
Plant trees around your house where ever it is possible... may be there is free space in the backyard or the garden.
Convert your garden and kitchen waste into compost: Compost is an organic substance which is created by the action of bacteria and microbes on organic matter like kitchen and garden waste. Compost is excellent food for your garden plants. It helps you in preventing land and soil pollution by helping you avoid the use of inorganic fertilizers.
