What a Wonderful World?
I was so excited to show you the world.
The trees in autumn, the new life in spring
The thunderstorms of summer,
And, well, we could stay inside during wintertime;
I didn't think you'd like snow.
I wanted you to be able to see and hear
Experience...everything
Even the pain (though not too much)
So happiness would be sweeter.
I couldn't wait to show you everything.
I'm so sorry.
We were so close, you and I
We were going to do so much in this beautiful place
But two months too soon,
I let you down.
Irrevocably.
I'm not sure what happened
But when I awoke with pain so intense,
I knew where we were headed
But what was supposed to be beautiful
A reflection of the springtime,
Beautiful, fresh, hopeful
Was nightmarish.
Three hours later, though everyone tried to hold you back
You were introduced to this world.
It didn't even impress you enough to breathe.

no worries or fears

feeling the dew on her toes

Hard Words
Cold and hard some people's words sound
they think it will get me up from the ground
but hard words can not hurt
