The Hope of Eternal Life
Imagine, the promise of living forever. Dwelling in the house of our Lord. Fearing no evil. Finding peace at the end of our road.
Why is it that God made this promise to us? Perhaps to keep our faith in Him. To calm us in the hour of our death. To ease the sorrow of the family who has lost a loved one.
Psalm 23:4 is probably the best know Bible verse, where God tells us not to fear death. That He is with us, to guide, and comfort and protect us through our passing.
1 Corinthians 15:54-57 Speaks of our dying bodies, being transformed into bodies that will never die. That with God, we will be victorious over sin, and our death will be through Jesus.
Believers will live with God, after death.
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Comforting words, with promises of life everlasting for those who believe, and have faith in God, and His words. Life everlasting, to those people who believe, and are good, following God's teachings, and applying them to their life. These promises pertain to all of us. It's up to us,. To have faith, hope, and belief in God, and His words.
God gives us hope through these verses in the Bible. The hope of seeing our loved one's again one day. The hope that life doesn't end with our death. The hope that another life waits for us, after our death here on Earth.
Eternal life... What does the promise of eternal life do for us? I think about those words, and they comfort me. I feel good for the family members that I have lost over the years, and know they are not gone, they are living in God's house, as well as in my heart. There is a place that waits for us after our death. We have hope to join our loved ones after we pass on. It gives us hope, that our loved ones will be comforted when we leave this world,
to live with God in Heaven, forever.
John 14:1-3
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me
that you also may be where I am."
In this verse, we are given hope that God has a room for us after death. We are told not to worry, and trust in God, and Jesus.
Hope gives us the strength to go through some very difficult times in our lives. Hope keeps God's words close to our hearts, as we apply hope to our daily lives. Overcoming fear, and dealing with sorrow. Hope also gives us something to look forward to after our death.
Don't fear death, as He is there with us, through the transformation from Earth, to Heaven. Hope gives us strength, and courage, to face, and embrace our death. The hope of living forever, with God... A beautiful place is being made for us in Heaven. Hope will see us
through, and get us to our destination, of life in Heaven with our Lord.
Revelation 14:13
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!
God's promise that all who die after Jesus, will be blessed by their hard work, and good deeds, which will follow you to Heaven.
Hope is a beautiful gift from God, as we look forward to our next life, in Heaven. It's up to us, to accept that gift, by the way we live our lives. For good, and not evil. Open your hearts to love, and practice good in your life, and you will have the hope of God's promise to you.
