I am a college student and I currently maintain a 4.0 G.P.A. It is not easy because I do struggle with school, home, work, community service, and car problems. Financially, I am drained but I have found some ways to help alleviate that problem. There are ten important ways that will help you financially.
One way that will help is tutoring sites. I have found several sites including a site called Students of Fortune. I am obsessive about my grade and that comes in handy. On these sites, people post their assignments and questions. I read the assignments and I answer them. I post them but at a price. We are not allowed to do the homework or assignments for them but we can offer guidance, tutoring, and support. The price these students are willing to pay is tremendous. I started this about a month ago and I have made $100 so far. This is great for those who are good at school work.
Tip (2) Working I know is hard but finding a job is important. Some jobs pay for your education, depending on the type of degree you are trying to pursue. I am struggling now but when I graduate, if my G.P.A. is good and I passed, my job will cover the rest of the tuition cost because the degree will benefit them. Research different companies and apply for those that offer tuition reimbursement.
Tip (3) Figure out your strong points in school and tutor in those subjects. Apply for a tutoring job in the counselor's office. Many colleges offer employment as a tutor and they pay very handsomely.
Tip(4) Fill out as many scholarship, grant, and sponsorship program forms as you can. Scholarships and grants you don't have to pay back while sponsorship programs are for those who help students graduate at the anticipation of utilizing you with your degree. Some states have state sponsorship programs such as Texas and Louisiana while other states may not. Go to your local library and ask for the city handbook. The guidelines are in there.
Tip(5) Garage sells are becoming more and more popular. I can not tell you how many garage sells my mother goes to on weekends and they are usually crowded. Community garage sells are everywhere. Ask for donations from the church, family members, and friends and host garage sells. They are profitable and you get to know a lot of people. People are not as mean as they use to be so putting a container or bucket on a table by you with donation on the cover helps a lot.
Tip(6) Recycle paper, plastic, coal, copper, iron, and metal. There are places that will take those and they pay a good price for the weight of each item.
Tip(7) Work real hard in school and maintain a good G.P.A. average. Some schools will pay a subsequent amount of tuition based on your grades. When the final grades are posted, many jobs go to colleges to recruit their employees and you want to have the best grades so that your name is at the top of the list.
Tip(8) Become friends with your professors. Recommendation letters are needed for many scholarship applications.
Tip(9) Start your own business. There are different ideas for different types of businesses such as marketing, tutoring, babysitting, and more. Simple jobs can help with books, food, and supplies.
Tip(10) FASFA is a helpful loan site. I don't like loans but they pay for everything while you are in school and you don't have to start paying for anything until 6 months after graduation. You can opt for a payment plan and have monthly payments. By that time, you may have received grants, scholarships, or saved up money.
Good Luck
