Poetry: An uninvited guest

by Rebecca Florido

Created on: September 03, 2009

In a dark unknown world
between a mist of confusion.
Where your thoughts are swirled
and fear becomes your enemy.

A place that is not your intention
an atmosphere not meant for you.
A location that brings only contravention
and a deathly frighting uninvited guest.

Bumps through the light less night,
voices that scream for only your help.
Faces that grimace to give you a fright,
are they real or is it just a dream?

make it go away? Tell it to stay?
What do I want? What does it want?
All I can think to do is pray,
I just want it to leave me alone.

Dear Lord for you are my God.
Make the bumps in the night,
the screams of the unknown and odd,
disappear from within my home.

Tell them to be scared of me,
for you are with me night and day.
please Dear Lord hear my plea,
tell the uninvited guest to leave.
