Well, football season is here and it could not have came sooner, and with week one approaching that means fantasy football. Everyone wants to know who is the top Quarterbacks in 2009 and here is the top 5 QBs of fantasy football.
My number five pick would have to go to Donavan McNabb. His receiving core has got a whole lot better with the arrival of DeSean Jackson and two can only get better going into 2009. McNabb also has Michael Westbrook who is a touchdown machine, giving McNabb the ability to complete short 2 yard dumb offs and Westbrook moving the ball ten to twenty yards from were he caught it. If they can successfully incorporate Michael Vick into their schemes as a threat McNabb could turn out to be the best fantasy player in the Draft.
Moving to number four, I would have to go with Peyton Manning. I know there is someone who is reading this going are you crazy, but Manning has lost his number one receiver and will have to learn a new offense after spending his entire career under the same offensive coordinator doesn't boast well for the former mvp. What does look bright for him is that he is Peyton Manning the best or second best QB in the league. So he should be able to still bring In some high fantasy numbers from game to game.
Number three was a bit of a tough one, because this is without a doubt the best QB in the biz right now, Tom Brady. It is hard to know what kind of numbers this guy will post after being out of the game for a whole year. I don't think he will come back and post the numbers he posted in 2007-08 season, but around week 4 to 5, I expect him to lighting fantasy score boards up. Remember Randy Moss is still lining up at receiver unfortunately for whoever has to cover him.
My number two is Jay Cutler who fell short of number one for the simple fact he is on a new team who doesn't put a lot of money into their offense. Besides that fact, he lead the league in half the categories last year and he has a pro bowl running back in Matt Forte and their defense will get a lot of three and outs. Leaving Jay Cutler a lot of opportunities to throw the ball behind that pretty decent O-line.
My number one does not need a introduction - Mr. Drew Brees. New Orleans are going to throw the ball a lot every game and they have the tools to do so. Brees is going to average nearly fifty attempts a game and when you have Marques Colston, Reggie Bush, Jeremy Shocky, and Lance Moore just make his cannon of an arm into a nuclear missile just waiting to explode on someone for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Well that's my top 5 fantasy QBs, good luck to you on the up coming season.
