Comparing Ghost Hunters & Most Haunted

I like both of these shows but I think that Ghost Hunters is by far the superior show. Some of it does have to do with the language barrier, it is hard to understand some of the investigators. That, coupled with the poor sound from some of the locations and you almost need subtitles to comprehend what they are talking about.

Unless they scream, then that kind of is a dead give away. And the host, she does a lot of screaming. When they point out evidence of some kind it is generally hard to see and by evidence I don't mean dust particles passing as Orbs those bastions of spiritual energy that is common to almost every show they do. I mean solid (no pun intended) evidence, something caught on tape, a shadow here or a figure caught with a thermal camera. Something tangible, at least something that would wet your appetite for more.

Now, compare that to Ghost Hunters and the guys from T.A.P.S, what a difference. These people do catch something here or a voice there but not always. And that is what makes the show so good. Sure the lead ins give you the impression that something more than what is going to happen actually happens but sometimes they give a clue and that scene is just around the corner and you say to your significant other Did you see that? and they say creepy

The locations have a lot to do with the show appeal, at least that applies with either show. Obviously the Most Haunted crew is predominately in England with a few layovers across the pond here in the U.S. And by the same token the Ghost Hunters guys and gals stick close to home. Although they have gone over to England and Ireland for a few shows, then there is Ghost Hunters International or GHI. That would be a whole new article, there.

The cast also has a lot to do with the show's appeal and how they interact not only with each member but also with us, the viewers. Take the hostess of MH, Yvette Fielding, in almost every show she can be found screaming at one thing or another throughout the episode and you can't see what it was that set her off. Now, having watched GH for a long time and finding the investigative team more cohesive, and they don't use a psychic in any episode you can see the difference in the way the investigations are handled. On GH there isn't a whole lot of screaming, unless you count Steve and his fear of spiders, then that is kind of funny.

Being a fan of the supernatural either show is interesting to watch but by far Ghost Hunters is the better show of the two. However I suggest watching both of them and making an informed decision on your own.

But do it with the lights out
