Fear is an interesting emotion. It can cause you to run when you are in danger or fight when necessary, but the spirit of fear is crippling. The spirit of fear is overwhelming; it can prevent you from moving forward and branching out and creating a new or better future for yourself. When you have the spirit of fear, fear's involvement is in every aspect of your life. From not being able to create relationships to never leaving your house; the spirit of fear overwhelms and permeates every part of your being.
The spirit of fear says that danger lurks around every corner, just waiting to attack. You begin to believe that everyone and everything is "out to get you". The spirit of fear does more harm than good. So just what is this spirit of fear and where does it come from. The spirit of fear is an overwhelming emotion, a constant feeling of impending doom and a condemnation in your spirit. The feeling, no matter what you do and how you try, just never seems to subside. The feeling just, lurks. This spirit of fear makes taking even one step forward difficult, but we have not received a spirit of fear.
You see, with God, all things are possible. God says that when He is for us, nothing can be against us. With Him, we are able to overcome this spirit of fear. We are able to move forward, to let go of the past and to become whole. No more are we haunted with the thoughts of condemnation or fear. We are able to move past the fear and take the first step. When we let go of the spirit of fear, we know that His love is able to bring us through. We come to understand that we are loved; loved for who we are.
When we let go of the spirit of fear, our minds become free. Free from the clutter and the noise and the internal tapes that have been constantly playing in our heads. We realize and recognize that we no longer have to be people who are afraid or unable to move forward. We know that we are loved and supported in our endeavors. As we are healed from the inside out, we also come to realize that we can help others and that the spirit of fear no longer has a grip on us.
