Here is a song that I wrote about NOT working actually-this was not intended to start a writer's strike, nor should anyone conceive of the idea, please. As with most of my work,b this song was written with Alanis Morissette's musical team and vocal sdtyle in mind:
Work Will Now Cease (The Strike; The Strike)
Now that you've dredged up a little more an-ger
Now that you've c om-pro-mised my inner peace
Now that I'm standing on firmer foundations
I'm going to tell you how it's gonna be.
I will not push past tireless exhaustion
And pennies, my friend, is like working for free
The benefits offered beyond comprehension
And I have no friends that would rather be me.
So, now that you've dredged up a little more anger
And now that you've compromised my inner-peace
Now that I'm standing on firmer foundations
Friend, I must tell you, my work will now cease.
The strike-only answer
The strike-my decision
The strike-fine with me.
It seems there are strikes
No more answers
Strikes
Upheld decisions
The strike
Fine with me.
And now, kind listeners
Work will cease
The strike
The strike
Is fine with me.
This is as far as I got with this one and for those of you out there who have had a chance to listen to Alanis's Flavors of Entanglement, it mightt appear similar to something like Moratorium to you-but the melody and structure of the song is planned out quite differently, does not center on the same type of relationships to me and AGAIN should not incite enough frustration in the working writers out there to contemplate and/or initiate a Writer's Strike, please.
