-A Submissive Stance-

A broken mind in a darkened hole
sought life in a fresh batch
and there he found
his own lies

That sick and twisted monster
fed upon the needy and the sold
then he swallowed some more
victimless crimes

Broken, betrayed and laughable
he never gave a second glance
to his own damned
ruddy reflection

He just crept away from the stool
fell into filth and into bed

no longer dreaming
just slowly dying

He didn't know...
Triumph was in a submissive stance
surrendering was letting go
victory was a state of grace
and serenity a freedom

Bound to self-destruction
like a nosebleed to a scratched mirror
he wanted nothing but
perfect oblivion

That brain-dead catastrophe
walked nine-millimeters to a mausoleum
to kiss the dead
and end his life

He couldn't push through to it
to pull the trigger he desired
he just needed
a little more time

Got no guts but lots of tears
not enough to stomach bullets
to meet the dirt
to meet the choir

He didn't know...
Triumph was in a submissive stance
surrendering was letting go
victory was a state of grace
and serenity a freedom

So he rose to the sickness
retching until he could smile
found his stool
and began to imbibe

His story was told to him
as if he wasn't there
he had to laugh
but then he cried

No friend was too precious
to not offend and then assault
nothing left
no one there

His mind got made up
A touch of sanity in hell
just one more
then never again

He didn't know...
Triumph was in a submissive stance
surrendering was letting go
victory was a state of grace
and serenity a freedom

He called for swift rescue
he was answered with love
the kind of love
that's indestructible

He had to sink to the bottom
had to lose all control
to know he was broken
and certain he was powerless

In a room of mirrors made flesh
the fugue dissipated to reveal truth
it took away his fear
and supplanted willingness

The eyes of the child opened again
long lost to the brilliance
another chance at this
a better way than his

Then he knew...
Triumph was in a submissive stance
surrendering was letting go
victory was a state of grace
and serenity a freedom
