Ah, Spyware. Don't we all just love it when our computer slows down to a crawl because of these nasty little buggers? Spyware is a form of malware, adware is also part of malware. To understand how to get rid of spyware, we must understand what spyware is. Spyware is computer software that is sometimes bundled in with other "safe" programs that can collect personal information, without a user knowing it. This can result is extra CPU, Disk and Memory usage! Not nice, huh? Fortunately, (or unfortunately) Spyware and other malware has grown so much, that there are many businesses devoted to stopping these malicious software. The very best ones can cost a lot of money, but for most of us, the following 3 programs are among the best in anti-spyware. When used one after another, it can pack a 1 2 knockout punch to the vast majority of spyware: Zone Alarm, Spybot: Search and Destroy, and Lavasoft's Adaware. These 3 programs basically do the same thing, but what one can't catch, the others will. Plus, ask any computer enthusiast or a Geek Squad member; chances are that they will recommend 1, 2 or all 3 of these superb AS software.

Now that you've gotten rid of your spyware, it's time to make sure they don't come back. Take note that spyware and other malware is often bundled with seemingly "safe" programs. Such programs (usually P2P software and search bars) are known to be bundled with spyware, so use at your own risk: Limewire, Bearshare, Viewpoint, WildTangent, and Weatherbug. Take note that these are the most famous and well-known ones. There are many many more. In conclusion, spyware is very nasty, and can be removed with good anti-spyware software, but they best way is to prevent this from happening, and by being discerning on which programs to download, your computing and internet browsing experience can be malware free.
