While everyone's skin is different, there is one thing every person has had to deal with: pimples and the scars they leave behind. Even those who have been blessed with beautiful skin get the occasional pimple, what keeps them from coming back is how you banish them from your face. Getting rid of zits can be done with just a few easy steps every day.
First, make sure that you have a skin care regimen that works for you. Cleanse, tone and moisturize everyday, and make sure you exfoliate and do a facial mask once a week. Also, make sure that you are taking care of your body by eating right, staying hydrated and exercising, as the benefits will show on your skin.
When a pesky pimple does show up, don't play with it. Here's why: not only are your hands dirty, but if you pop a pimple the wrong way you will force all of the bacteria deeper into your pore. This enlarges the pore, allowing even more dirt to become trapped. If you notice you get pimples in the same spot, then you are squeezing them incorrectly. Invest in a pore extractor. Available at drugstores, it is a long stainless steel tool that when pressed against the skin, squeezes dirt out of your pores. Simply steam your face and go to town removing debris the way dermatologists do.
There are a number of products that you can use to help shrink pimples quickly and eliminate scarring. Ingredients such as benzyl peroxide, salicylic acid and Vitamin A will help keep your skin clear. Tea tree oil and honey are naturally antibacterial while lemon juice lightens scars and exfoliates the top layer of skin. Try a baking soda and water paste or non-whitening toothpaste to dry out pimples. Also, look for products specifically made to fight scars. Vitamin E and aloe will help skin heal quickly and if applied promptly, will prevent scars. If a pimple gets swollen and painful, simply ice it to bring it down.
By spending time everyday to take care of your skin, you will find that you notice problem spots, giving you time to get rid of pimples before they erupt. If you are still finding many blemishes after being diligent with your skin care, try taking a skin clearing formulated vitamin or visit your doctor for prescription strength acne fighters. The easiest way to take care of pimples and scars is prevention, so get to know your skin and discover what works best for you.
