There is nothing more frustrating than spending a ton of time styling your hair, just have it completely frizz the minute you walk out the door.
Here are some easy ways to get rid of and tame that frizzy hair.
Shampoo Less Often
Hair that is shampooed too often can become very dry. Instead of washing with shampoo every day, cut it down to only 3 times a week. When in the shower gently massage your fingers along your scalp to loosen any dirt and just let plain water wash it
out. Add conditioner on the ends (not too much on the scalp - you do not want it to look greasy) before rinsing.
Try Rinsing With Cold Water
Cold water "locks down" the hair cuticle and makes hair appear sleeker, so after finishing washing or conditioning your hair, try rinsing it with the coldest water you can stand before getting out of the shower.
Use Pomade Instead of Mousse
Mousse can actually contribute to frizzy hair. Try a Pomade instead. Rinse your hands under water, shake off the excess water but leave your hands wet. Dip your finger in the pomade and rub between your hands than lightly run through damp hair. Do not use on scalp, just the bottom half of hair to help keep frizz under control. You can find pomade in just about any major drug store. Walmart even has their own brand that you can try.
Let Your Towel Soak Up The Moisture - Do Not Rub
Do not dry your hair by rubbing it with a towel. This also contributes to frizz. Instead leave the towel on your head for at least 15 minutes to absorb the moisture on its own.
Do Not Brush Wet Hair - Use a Pick Instead
Brushing wet hair can not only contribute to frizz, it can actually cause breakage to your hair. After letting the towel soak up most of the moisture, use a pick to separate it. Let hair air dry for at least 10 minutes before attempting to use the blow drier.
Blow it Downwards
To get a sleeker look instead of frizz, always be sure to blow your hair in a downward motion. Clip up sections of the hair you are not working on and blow only one section at a time. Be sure to point the blow drier down as you work each section. You can get an attachment for the end of
your drier called a concentrator nozzle attachment. That will concentrate the flow of air for an even silkier and sleeker look.
Try a New Daily Conditioner
Sometimes a new conditioner may be all you need to help tame those frizzies. Suave has a conditioner that people are raving about called Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner. It only costs about $1.00 a bottle, but many are swearing
