Poetry: Write your epitaph

by Travis Rent

Created on: August 31, 2009

Quite honestly

my poetry

is so easy

I cannot see

beyond the line that makes it be.

For surely not I

made this song spry

nor made that sense

or paid some expense.

Why would i make my hell so intense?

Everything here

is written clear

from a mind that knows a worse fear.

And though I try

to find the high

that once sent me care,

I know I seek

what does speak

from a time that I don't share.

Please don't expect to make some meaning

to the points that keep careening

for no position has been set,

and no definition has been met.

And I'll bet my ideas will never settle,

cause I know my push will always pedal.
