If Only My Life Were
the gathering of sunflower seeds
gamboling along a branch
leaping fearlessly into space
treetops above the earth flying gracefully across the gap
never once doubting
landing secure
scampering down to where the sunflower seeds wait
if only my life
playing tag
scuffling
making love high up there where all the world can see
but only we know when and if and where
so they would have to watch us endlessly
and we would scamper
up and down
run behind the tree
go down not up go back
and so be lost to them
whose poor eyes can barely see the tree
we see all the earth we need to see
we are of the earth the sky the tree
and we are free
to sleep to play to sit and stare
and when we choose
and are so inclined
to eat
we mosie down and
gather up sweet sunflower seeds
if only my life were.

Poetry: Natural beauty
The dream into the imagination of man,
Bring us to unknown worlds of great distances,
Unlike our very own and to wondrous
Reaching my hands up to the sky,
Blocking the sun from your eye.
Giving warmth from the cold,
Offering something strong to
I sat upon the seawall
its haunches
weathered grey
and marveled at the August sun
which bore a golden ray
The screeching seagulls
played
Beautiful you!
What is natural beauty? Is it the pictures that we canvas in our mind?
Is it the perfection that comes from
DAWNWATCH
First a hint
and then a glimmer
drifting across a slow sky-
Dawn begins. A tint
dyeing the stars to dimmer
points
