Believing in ghosts

I once heard a story from my mother that made me believe that we are not the only ones around and that ghosts do have a place out here in this world of ours.

She was only like 10 years old living in Puerto Rico with her mother, father and sisters. In the house that she was living in there were 2 x 4's that were used to lock the doors from the inside so no one would come in when their sleeping. One day my mother took all the 2 by 4's and decided to play with them with her dolls. After a couple of hours her mother caught her and got real upset. Her mother told her that she shouldn't do that because the pieces of wood were important to keep them all safe. My mother got upset and put all the 2 by 4's back.

The next day she grabbed them again and started playing. She had all them in her room while her mother was in the kitchen preparing dinner for the family. After a couple of hours her mother called her and asked her what she was doing. She told her that she was playing so her mother told her to go back to her room and get ready for dinner.

When my mother went back in her room see noticed that all the pieces of wood were stacked up horizontally each above one another. My mother started to scream and then the door behind her slammed. Her mother ran to her trying to open the door but she couldn't open it.

After a couple of minutes her father kicked the door down and noticed my mother shaking with all her hairs standing straight up and her skin completion lighter than usual. Her father asked her what had happened and she told him that the 2 by 4's were in the middle of the room on top of each other with nothing holding them up.

Then her mother said "what 2 by 4's" and then she noticed that there was nothing in her room and that they were all on the doors to the house as if she had never touched them.

The crazy part of all this is that her room had no locks on the doors so it was no way that the door should of been locked. Since that day my mother had never played with the 2 by 4's again.
