There were always times
Harder than the rest
Still all I ever got
Was "I do my best"
At five Daddy left
At six he was gone
Forever somewhere
What did I do wrong?
I came to blame you
As my life ended
So much pain I felt
Never to be mended
Mad as a hatter
Others made you feel
But I paid the price
As you screamed and reeled
And yet here we are
Years have somehow flown
I've found no answers
But these truths are known
I don't have a dad
This much is a fact
Sometimes I wish it
Were all just an act
I only have you
This much is certain
Though at times I want
To call it curtains
But I still have you
For always and more
Surely with you life
Is never a bore
Both mom and dad
You unlike the rest
I am here today
Since you did your best

Mother's cardigan.
My mother's cardigan
Still hangs on the back of her chair,
A fluffy pink confection
Of kitten-soft mohair,
Take me back
Back to a time
Life was different
Things were simple
Surrounded by love
And adoration for each other
We stuck close
And
The Morning Light
There's a place in the morning light,
a moment...there just for awhile,
when the newness of the day shines
Mother
I left behind what created me,
She who held me in her arms
And whispered to me as a bairn.
I left behind what made me

My Mother a Class Act
Dinner setting, quite frankly I never seen so many
Bursting the pyramid into pepper, tonight's meal
