Perched up high
Like a bird in its nest
Preparing to take off
Into the endless sky
To jump and flap its wings
Rise into the clouds
That is what I want
All I ever wanted
To fly up and away
Over land, over water
Flying on past dusk
Second star to the right
Finally reaching Neverland
I am ready to leave.
Eyes squeezed shut,
I imagine flight
I jump off the rock
But I only fall to the ground
