It is best for you to be aware of the positive and negative aspects of choosing a home-based business before you start one. As regards its positive side, you can enjoy time flexibility, low operational cost, and personal touch. By running your business from the comfort of your home, you can work anytime relative to your transactions. You can adjust your time of work anytime to suit yourself and your business activities. Besides, a home-based business implies low operational cost since you don't have to pay for an office space. The business directly involves you with your clients which puts your personal touch to the business transactions. It allows you to know them better including their needs. On the other hand, running a home-based business has also negative side. Sometimes, you cannot avoid having your personal life intervene with your business activities at home. You need to exert extra effort to firmly establish a line to separate your personal affairs from your business life to avoid conflict. Moreover, this kind of business needs good organization system especially when it comes to marketing and other transaction records for you to manage your time and financial aspects properly since you are running the business yourself. If you are a type of person who is fond of working with people around, you may feel isolated in this kind of business since you do your work not in an office where you mingle with your co-workers but at your home where you may only have your computer and other paraphernalia as your partners in your daily work routine.
This simply means that a home-based business is not for everyone. You have to consider your personality and assess yourself if this kind of business really suits you best.
