A Birthday Party On A Budget
I have noticed over the years that people think in order to have a successful birthday party that you have to pay a lot for it. I have had fun at birthday parties where most of the stuff was homemade. From the invitations down to the Cake. Here are some tips on how you can have a kid's birthday party on a budget.
1) Invitations: Let your child create their own. They could hand make each one with crayons or let them design their own on your home computer. There are cheap or free programs where you can design cards, invitations and such to be printed out at home. 2) Games: Make your own. You can make up games the kids would like or play some old classics like musical chairs. You could even make your own pinata with paper mache and a balloon on the inside or make a frame with old wire (or wire hangers) and masking tape. Be sure to remember to make the hole for the candy to go in. 3) Snacks: Make a fun kid friendly snack buffet, but try and keep it healthy. You can make trays of apples peeled and cut into finger food size with peanut butter in the center to dip the apple pieces into. Put dry cereal, like Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops, Honeycombs or any other cereal you think the children would enjoy eating dry, out on a tray. They can even dip this into peanut butter if they like. Trays also filled with things like Cheese Crackers (Cheese Nips or Cheezits), Graham Crackers and/or Saltines are nice. Peanut Butter Sandwiches cut into finger sandwich size or little squares are also good birthday party snacks especially if it's being held around lunch time. Just put out an assortment of chips to go with it. 4) Cake: Make it homemade. If your child wants one decorated with a car or toy of their favorite super hero or something buy one cheap and place it on the cake. Or you could always make the cake put the icing on it and allow your birthday boy/girl to decorate it how they want it. Just be sure you have Happy Birthday written on the cake.
These tips will help you next time you have a birthday party for your child to plan. Remember to have a fun party doesn't mean to have an expensive one. For a party to be fun all you have to do is add children.
