I heard a voice, it spoke to me
Out of the depths of misery
A brief sweet comfort, a glimpse of hope
When a better life seems too remote
I lie almost lifeless on my bed
My thoughts flash quickly through head
This life I'm living feels like a prison
I need a reason to keep living
I contemplate suicide
Would anyone mind it if I died?
The small still voice inside me said,
"Life is worth living, and you're not dead"
But forging a new life seems so hard
As I meld into the dark
And I have no idea how to begin
When all I know is despair and sin
I'm praying and begging with desperation
Trying to find some consolation
Suddenly it comes to me
In times like this, just let it be
I feel at peace, I drift asleep
I made a promise I intend to keep:
To try and change my life today
As the small still voice lights the way
Said the small still voice
"Remember you always have a choice."

Still
small voice
echoing
by the river
a frog singing to the shoal of fishes.
There was a time when
The anger and the rage
With the way things were
Became so large
While I became so small
But
