" a death to never forget "
this tattoo has lain under my skin for over ten years
ten years free of sorrow and worry and tears
.
a tattoo done on the brink of adolescence
i never thought it would mean so to me
.
three hours straight with a single needle and ink
we laughed every time i let out a squeak
.
and then it was done
in the blink of an eye
a simple star
given by my sister.
.
and ten years later still the only ink in my blood
my sister dies
.
all i have in remembrance is my simple star
.
but it reminds me each day of her
.
i hope now that sheS dancing among stars a high
.
i'll stay down here for now
waiting for my time
but I'll never forget
not once in a lifetime
I'll never forget her.
and her simple star
R.I.P.

Its artwork
Tells a story
The story of my life
And is it ever a great tale
