Look Inside
What do you see
when you look at me?
Do you see inside
the things I want to hide?
Can you see the scars; the pain;
a girl about to go insane?
Is there a lake of unshed tears
surrounded by all my fears?
Have you see the lies and hurt?
The broken soul left lying in the dirt?
How, you wonder, can I live through this day by day?
Well, if you'd just look the other way
You will see
All the love that I hold close to me
Times I've laughed and had fun
The victories over battles I have won
If you look colser you'd see my best friends
Who will stand by me until the world ends
You see, there are ways to make it through
So, no matter your past, what you've done, or will ever do
You can get past it all
and be able to stand proud and tall
