Poetry: Tragic love

by Terrell Newbill

Created on: August 28, 2009

Finally out of my head, but now I'm lost in your eyes.

So bright and probing, I know, because they can see through my disguise.

My facade has never been a barrier to you. And your the only one I trust enough to let see through.

So here I am, the real me, powerful and loud. Is it what you expected to see, and does it set me apart from the crowd?

Or is it startling and weird, like a bat outta hell?

Pity or love, I can never really tell.

But i digress, their are better things to discuss.

Like you and me or, I hesitate to say this, Us.

Because while I wear a disguise, you wear armor, so separating, so cold.

What if i told you I loved you, if I were so bold?

Would that armor drop away?

Would you finally understand the feelings I've hidden away?

But I missed my chance, our time is done.

But if I had bet my heart on you angel, tell me, would I have won?
